








| This class is designed to strengthen the core including all those muscles deep in your back, waist and abdominals. Gain overall body strength and conditioning using your body weight and dynabands for resistance. Practicing Pilates improves balance, flexibility, and stamina. Bring own mat. Dynabands provided. Classes at EWFW cross trains with handheld Pilates equipment to continually enhance results; participants encouraged to bring Magic Circles. Mondays and Wednesdays 4:45-5:45 p.m. |
| Pilates works the entire body, emphasizing control, precision and concentration of both the mind and the body. Movements are not performed rapidly or repeated excessively -- the focus is on quality not quantity. The abdominal muscles, lower back and buttocks ("powerhouse") serve as the center of all movement, allowing the rest of the body to move freely. The focus is on core stabilization, thereby making one stronger from the inside out and is critical for the advancement in Pilates. |

Using actual Pilates equipment is different from using any other machine or using the floor as your 'machine'. With Pilates large equipment, each person WILL get better balance, form, and technique -- all of which are crucial elements for the Pilates workout.
